Samsung’s Galaxy S3 has surpassed Apple’s iPhone 4S as the most popular smartphone, according to new statistics based on sales and live searches. The iPhone 4S was in the No. 2 position, followed by the Galaxy S2 and the HTC One X. Two other Samsung devices, the Galaxy Ace and the Galaxy Note, were in very close position.

Samsung Telecommunications America president Dale Sohn stated, “With millions of NFC-enabled Samsung Galaxy smartphones currently in the market and the arrival of our flagship device Galaxy S3, Samsung saw an opportunity to expand the value of NFC beyond mobile payments.”

“The launch of Samsung TecTiles is another example of Samsung’s ability to innovate new products and applications that improve the way we use our mobile devices for everyday tasks.”

Samsung’s new stickers allow NFC-enabled smartphones to program daily tasks by tapping against the Tectile sticker claiming it similar to Sony’s Smarttags. Its help it to be most popular.
